Cooking with Carbonated Water

Over here the water isn't so healthy - so as a result we have to buy water to cook, brush teeth and wash any food in. In Kharkiv we can buy 10L of water for about 4.20 Grv from a WW2 looking water truck or in the store for 10 Grv (10L). Recently we've noticed that when pouring water in (bought from the water truck) to cook our rice, potatoes etc - it fizzed! Wwll, that's a bit weird - but we thought, it might just be some reaction with the starchy potatoes. But then when we brushed our teeth that night - the water fizzed in our mouth and on our tongue! So, somehow the beautiful 'fresh bore' water has turned carbonated (or something like that)! So now we are wondering if we should continue to cook with this 'carbonated' water or find our water elsewhere - and whether it's the reason Monique got sick in the stomach this past weekend. hmmm...
