At SQLD Camp Meeting
On Tuesday we flew up to Brisbane for a quick trip to share some new music at the Encounter tent at South Queensland Camp Meeting 2010. The theme in the tent was 'His Heart to our Heart' and wasreally cool family focused tent, complete with a song for kids and a kid's story. So in the video below you can hear the bunch of kids at the front of the stage.
'Surrender' is a song discussing the whole idea of surrendering to God. How we sing about 'I Surrender all' in the old Hymn, but do we? So often in our own homes, behind closed doors... do we actually surrender? Or just try and tune out the Holy Spirit who tries to help us and teach us how to surrender?
Jesus Christ was the One who surrendered everything for our salvation. He gave us the example, while here on earth, of what true surrender is and how to live a life for God. He showed us what righteousness is. We are told in Hebrews 10:13-16 that the heros of the Bible treated earth as though they were 'strangers and pilgrims' here and they were putting their trust in God's promises of another land, a heavenly country. They lived as though Heaven was their home.
This is what we should do. Give our lives daily to Jesus and ask for His help to live a life that is fully surrendered to Him. We need His help because without His help we will fail every time (Ephesians 2:7,8). We need to ask Jesus for help to surrender our time, our old ways, anything that is in between us and our saviour.
I pray that this song is just as much of a blessing to you as it has been for us.
