Habitual or Unique?
Pulling up in our car, we head inside to meet our hosts, chat a little in introduction, then begin the equipment haul. Each music event differs yet has similarities that threaten habituality. A few weeks ago we had the distinct pleasure of revisiting Morwell Family Church. There's something resoundingly special about meeting up with the same lovely people again and having the opportunity to once again worship together.
Then last week we visited the Haddon Church of Christ for the first time and experienced one of the most spiritually and emotionally uplifting concerts. There are moments of encouragement that happen while we are on the road and we had those at both Morwell and Haddon. It's such a pleasure to see people actively worshipping God as we sing and speak. Our prayer is always that God will be exalted and uplifted above everything else. When we hear a testimony that this has happened, it fills us with joy. These are the moments that force a break from what could become habitual and make each experience unique instead.
To end off we wanted to share the testimony/recommendation that the Pastor from Haddon shared with us:
"What a night. We hosted Eric & Monique, singer/songwriter “musicianaries” for an hour or so of the most beautiful, spiritually impactful gospel music I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Eric & Monique's music is based squarely on scripture and is so very glorifying to God. It was such a spiritually impactful evening of praise and worship, every song exalting the Lord Jesus Christ. Eric & Monique will bless your church and encourage God’s people with their transparent honesty and genuine praise of our beautiful Saviour. As a pastor of a conservative, evangelical church I unhesitatingly commend them to you."

And Here We Go!
At the beginning of each new year, Eric and I get together in a 'staff meeting' to pray and put together an outline for the year ahead. With one month done, we've already started a few of our goals! Actually feeling rather productive over here right now. Here's a bit of an outline of our 2017 Musicianary plans:
YouTube Videos: You can subscribe by clicking here.
Facebook Live: If you're into Facebook, connect with us here to not miss out.
Blogging: Keep coming back to the website for the blogging content that will come out.
Concert Project: Super excited about this one! It's a bit more of a long term goal and we'll let you know more when we can.
Australia Touring: Starting in August we are planning a music ministry tour in SQLD, Sydney, Central Coast, Canberra, Tasmania.
Europe Touring: We are planning a four week music ministry tour of Germany, Austria and the UK in November-December.
Our biggest goal, of course, is about the new baby growing his way into this family. Adjusting to being parents and how that will look at being full-time musicianaries will be sure to be a massive part of 2017.
We'd love to hear from you about song requests, parts of musicianary life you'd love to hear about and generally what you'd be interested in. Also, if you live in any of the places we're touring in this year and would like us to come to your area, we'd LOVE to hear from you!

Rode VideoMicMe Unboxing Video
Smartphones, for the most part, have good inbuilt microphones for capturing fairly decent sound in many difference scenarios. Where smartphone microphones come undone is usually when too much background noise is present or on a very windy day, it is difficult to hear clearly what you are recording.
After much research on YouTube, we decided to invest in the Rode VideoMicMe for smartphones. This is a shotgun microphone which picks up superb audio in the direction you are pointing the microphone and has the ability to cancel out a lot of the background noise that you often don't want (especially coming from behind the microphone).
I decided to do an unboxing video of this product and put it up on our YouTube channel. I'll be doing an outdoor test on the microphone soon.
We hope to use this microphone to get amazing audio quality while filming vlogs on the road and for doing Facebook and Instagram live streams.
