How can I share Jesus?
What do I say to share Jesus? It seems like a simple thing to do if we love God and want to share this love with others, but unfortunately it can seem all too difficult at times.
The gift of grace and salvation given to us by God is a gift that is too precious to hide away, but is a gift that we should wear every day of our lives.
Here's some interesting advice I've found useful:
"Tell those whom you visit that (1) the end of all things is at hand. The Lord Jesus Christ will open the door of their hearts and will make upon their minds lasting impressions... (2) Tell them how you found Jesus and (3) how blessed you have been since you gained an experience in His service. (4) Tell them what a blessing comes to you as you sit at the feet of Jesus and learn precious lessons from His word (Bible Study/devotions). (5) Tell them of the gladness and joy that there is in the Christian life. Your warm and fervent words will convince them that you have found the pearl of great price. Let your cheerful, encouraging words show that and as it is done, many will awake as from a dream." 9T, p.38
God is Love
God is the definition of what love is.
"... Love seeks not its own..." 1 Corinthians 13:5
The recurrent phrase in Eph 5:2, 25; Gal 1:4, 2:20; 1 Tim 2:6; Titus 2:14 is: Gave Himself - This is equated with love.
Love is the principle of putting others first. It isn't a flight, a feeling or an emotion.
At the heart of God is love. And we are valuable because God has attached a value to us - His own life! God's love is predicated on who He is not who we are. YET God values us infinitely.
Missionaries seek and save the lost - They give themselves to help and save others.
BUT who was the first missionary? God - He seeked a lost person, Adam. God can't stand to live eternity without one of us.
So, if we are followers of Jesus then are we to follow His example of being a missionary?
"Every true disciple is born into the kingdom of God as a missionary." Desire of Ages, p195
"For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." Acts 11:24
"It is a fatal mistake to suppose that the work of saving souls depends alone on the ordained minister. All to whom the heavenly inspiration has come are put in trust with the gospel. All who receive the life of Christ are ordained to work for the salvation of their fellow men. For this work the church was established, and all who take upon themselves its sacred vows are thereby pledged to be co-workers with Christ." Desire of Ages, p822
"Every truly converted soul will be intensely desirous to bring others from the darkness of error into the marvelous light of the righteousness of Jesus Christ." Review and Herald July 21, 1896
"God could have reached Hi object in saving sinners without our aid; but in order for us to develop a character like Christ's, we must share in His work. In order to enter into His joy, -- the joy of seeing souls redeemed by His sacrifice, -- we must participate in His labors for their redemption." Desire of Ages, p.142
"Let all who believe the truth begin to work. Do the work that lies nearest you... If the lay members of the church will arouse to do the work that they can do... each seeing how much he can accomplish in winning souls to Jesus, we shall see many leaving the ranks of Satan to stand under the banner of Christ. If our people will act upon the light that is given in these few words of instruction, we shall surely see of the salvation of God. Wonderful revivals will follow. Sinners will be converted, and many souls will be added to the church. When we bring our hearts into unity with Christ, and our lives into harmony with His work, the spirit that fell on the desciples on the day of Pentecost will fall on us." 8T, p246
