Rehearsal for ARISE Concert

We had our first rehearsal session for the ARISE concert today, which is coming up on the 30th October. The concert will feature a vast array of international talent and we're really looking forward to it. The song we'll be doing is one Eric wrote while volunteering in Ukraine, named He knows. It's amazing to think that God knows us so well that He knows the numbers of hair on our head, He knows just what we're thinking. God is Love and His love is personal!

We hope to record the song live on the night and hopefully post it up here.

Christ's Method Of Reaching People

As ARISE students we read a lot of great books and one you should definitely read is "Christ's Way Of Reaching People" by Philip G. Samaan. Sure the cover is a little dated (as it was written in the 90's) but don't let that throw you, it's full of Biblical truth and insights into Jesus' method of reaching people. Here's a real quick summary:

1. Christ mingled with others as one desiring their good. 2. Christ sympathized with them. 3. Christ ministered to their needs. 4. Christ won their confidence. 5. Christ invited them to follow Him. 6. Christ promised to make them "fishes of men." Another words, disciples...

Isn't it interesting to see the process Christ used? The book has really made me think about how often we (and myself included) want to skip right to sharing the 'information' part of the Bible with people, while forgetting to be their friend first regardless of whether or not they end up converting to Christianity!

Anyways, it's been a great read so far so I encourage you to check out the book, its really great!
