It's Begun

We've been in California for 6 days now and it's been non-stop. But totally awesome at the same time. We arrived, met up with the rest of the team, and planned and practiced until our first concert on Friday. It's been awesome to meet up with friends that we haven't seen in ages and meet some cool new people as well.

The theme of the concerts is 'who I AM'. We are concentrating on taking an honest look at who is God and how is that different than the common misconceptions in the world today. Concentrating on how God is an intimate Creator whose intimate relationship with his creation was broken. So He came down to earth to save us in a intimate way so that this intimate relationship can be restored.

So, at the moment we have a few days to rest and continue preparation before our next concert on Thursday.

I've discovered over the last few months a love of the book of James. There are so many quick jabs of insight! Here are a few that have caught my interest:

• 1:16 ...the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change...

• 1:26 ...If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless...

• 3:9,10 ...With it (a tongue) we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so...

• 3:17 ...But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy, and good fruits, impartial and sincere...

• 4:4 ...friendship with the world is enmity with God...

• 4:7 ...Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
