You Are My God
How earnestly do I seek God? David said that he seeked God to the point where he thirsts for God (Psalm 63). That his whole being longs for God as though he is in a dry place where there is no water. The question is... Do I seek God with that amount of longing?
God longed for us to the point of death on the cross. A symbol of torture that Jesus turned into a symbol of salvation and love. In the book of Phillipians Jesus' example of ultimate humbleness and love is discussed...
"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. is one that we are encouraged to seek after 'so that we can be like Him, in every word and deed'." Philippians 2:5-8
This is what we should strive for. To seek God with every breath. To be more like Him.
