Abide in Him so that...

1 John has to be one of my favourite books of the Bible. I'm just reading through it again tonight (Friday) and I am noticing the strong 'Abiding' theme throughout the entire book. While I was reading through the book, I felt impressed to grab a sheet of paper and wrote the header 'Abide in Him so that... [fill in the blank with a thought that comes out of the text].

This is what came out of my study of 1 John. As you read the bullet points, re-read the 'Abide in Him so that...' title on each point.

Abide in Him so that...

• When He appears we may have confidence and not shrink from Him in shame at His coming.
• We can stop practicing lawlessness and start practicing righteousness.
• We can purify ourselves.
• We can love one another.
• We can keep His commandments.
• We can walk through our life in the same way that He walked.
• We can have eternal life.

I am sure that there are many points you can draw out of 1 John. Do you want to give it a try? Read 1 John with the title 'Abide in Him so that...' in the back of your mind, what points can you draw out?

Two New Videos

On a hilltop somewhere in the Yarra Valley was a lodge and in that lodge was a makeshift TV set. You can't tell, it looked fantastic!

We recorded eight of our songs live for Hope TV and did an interview as well. The interview was a lot of fun. We want to get a copy of the blooper reel, couldn't stop laughing! Could it be the interviewer ? :P

The Hope TV crew were fantastic to work with. We had a really great time!!

Below are two videos from the live recording as a sneak preview. One day, it will be carved up into an episode. Oh, and If we ever get a copy of the gag reel, we'll put that up too ;)

LIVE @ Psalter Recording Session

We recently spent two days in Sydney filming a new show for HOPE Channel titled 'Live @ Psalter'. The concept behind the show is to give the viewer a live studio experience; hearing live versions of our songs in front of the camera.

The show will also feature Anna Weatherup, a fellow Psalter artist, we love her voice! She has an album you should definitely check out called 'Nearer'.

The Psalter crew (Tim Burcham, Dale Willis) hired an extremely talented arranger/composer, Daniel Brinsmead, who arranged four of our songs for a string quartet. (four songs for Anna as well).

Playing live with a String Quartet was an amazing experience, brings the songs to a whole new level!

The show will be broadcast later this year on HOPE Channel. First aired here in the South Pacific, God willing, other locations in the world as well :)
